Modern Baseball have decided to cancel all upcoming U.S tour dates and festival appearances, announcing that they are to take a break from the folk-punk band.

Taking to the bands official Facebook page, guitarist and vocalist Jake Ewald explained that over the past few months the band had become an ‘immense source of anxiety’ for him and the remainder of the MoBo crew.

“The project we started as a source of joy and positive expression had become something that was slowly eating away at our mental health and our friendships.”

He went on to add “We have been championing the importance of mental health for a while now, and we recently realized that it would be wrong for us to ignore our own health any longer.”

Ewald explained that he couldn’t thank MoBo’s fans enough for supporting them throughout the ‘crazy ride’.

“We never really learned how to do this whole “rock band” thing the right way, but you kept coming to the shows and talking to us and assuring us that we’d figure it out sooner or later. We could not have done any of this without you.”

The announcement comes a few weeks after vocalist Brendan Lukens announced that he wasn’t going to be joining his fellow bandmates on their February European and UK tour. Lukens explained that he needed to focus on his ‘mental’ and ‘physical’ health.

Lukens added “This was an incredibly hard decision for me, and it was even harder comforting myself and the band about how I am feeling. Still, I know this is what I need right now.”

We hope the MoBo crew get the rest they wholeheartedly deserve. Meanwhile we’ll just sit here and listen to the masterpiece that is Holy Ghost.
